Cheeyappara Waterfalls and Valara Waterfalls

The huge and beautiful Cheeyappara Waterfalls and Valara waterfalls are located between Neriamangalam and Adimali. These waterfalls are on either side of the KochiDhanushkodi Highway.

Cheeyappara Waterfalls

The first waterfall on the way to Munnar is Cheeyappara Waterfall, and it cascades down in seven steps. This is also a great place for trekking. On your way to Munnar from Kochi you’ll see these huge waterfalls on your left.

The view is quite scenic and you should definitely stop here at least to take some pics. The road to Munnar is a lot of bends so you can also stop here for a pit stop and relax.

Valara Waterfall

Valara has a chain of waterfalls falling from a height of about 1000 feet, surrounded by thick green forests and provide a magnificent view. It is a little smaller than Cheeyappara. It is one of the top waterfalls near Munnar.

This place is connected by buses running between Munnar and Kochi. Both waterfalls are surrounded by lush, dense forests that are home to a variety of animals and birds.

Season

The visitors can enjoy the beauty of the Waterfalls from May to December. During the Summer, the beauty of the river is lost because the water goes dry.
