Vagamon Eco Tourism Destination
This hill station is one of the major weekend destinations in Kerala. Vagamon, also spelt Wagamon, is a hill station located in the border of two districts in Kerala. Meenachil taluk and Kanjirappally taluk of Kottayam district and Peerumade taluk of Idukki district are sharing the location of Wagamon. The place is situated 1100 meter above the sea level.

Visitors can enjoy the adventure activities like Trekking, Paragliding, Mountaineering and Rock climbing. Thangal Para, Murugan and Kurisumala are the three hills on the same stretch attracting the travelers.

Wagamon is also called the ‘Scotland of Asia’. It’s a great place for nature lovers as it is an eco-tourism place and is also a great getaway in South India. It is perfect for a one-day visit from the nearby places. Also ideal for people who love Paragliding.

Wagamon lake is the just 100 meter away from the Wagamon town. Wagamon boating places are blessed with beautiful nature. The green tea plantations and green lush, gifted a soothing view to the Wagamon lake. Wagamon lake is small in its size as compared to other lakes in Kerala. It is an ideal place to enjoy the safe boating. Both Pedal Boats and rowing boats are available at very marginal rates.

Meadows of Vagamon
Wagamon meadows are the most popular place of Wagamon, located on the Wagamon Elappara route. The meadows are unique for its vastness and beauty. The place is a common spot for film shooting as well. A nominal entry fee is charged to visit the meadows.

Pine Forest
Another favorite spot that attracts the visitors in Wagamon is the pine forest. Pine forests of Wagamon is actually a man made one planted during the British regime of India. This enchanting valley of pine trees is also located in the Wagamon Elappara route.

Paragliding
Fly high like a bird, is the dream for every traveler. Fly Wagamon, a paragliding club based in Wagamon, Kerala helping you to fly like a bird over the Wagamon hill station. Suicide point or the Eco point will be the start point of Paragliding. Suicide point or Amruthamedu is South India’s Second highest peak. September to January and March to May is the season for enjoying the paragliding. On the month of January every year, Kerala Tourism promotion council conducts an annual paragliding event in Wagamon.
